About the Board

The Gateway Regional High School Board of Education is an elected body of nine community members who represent the residents of National Park, Wenonah, Westville and Woodbury Heights. We have chosen to serve on the School Board because we care about the future of our school and its students.

In overseeing the decisions of Gateway's administrators, the Board's primary responsibility is to ensure that Gateway provides an environment that meets the educational, emotional, physical and social needs of every child in our school in the best manner possible. Our goal is that every child be treated respectfully, as an individual, and that each child leaves Gateway with the education, skills and confidence to be successful.

The Board strives for excellence in every aspect of our school, from curriculum and facilities to personnel and student activities. In doing so, we are continually mindful of the cost of education to the taxpayers of Gateway's communities. As overseers of your educational dollars, the Board weighs every spending decision carefully, with all residents in mind.

Monthly Board Meetings

Gateway's Board of Education meets the second Wednesday of every month during the year, except for July. The meetings are held in Gateway's Lecture Hall (Rm. 321), and begin at 7:30p unless otherwise specified. Our Superintendent, Board Secretary and other Gateway administrators are present. All community members are invited to attend these meetings, either to express a specific concern or simply to find out what decisions are being made and what issues are being discussed. We are interested in hearing your point of view whether or not you have a child at Gateway.

Board of Education Committees

The Board has several committees that meet throughout the year to make decisions relating to specific areas. They are Curriculum, Finance, Personnel, Property/Transportation, Student Activities, and Textbooks.
