ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

MEETINGS, NEWS AND EVENTS:

 

SUPER BOWL PLATTERS:  See the main office if you need an order form for your veggie trays or pepperoni and cheese trays for your Super Bowl party.  All orders and payment must be turned in to Mrs. Kleine by FRIDAY.

 

Hel-looo BOOK CLUB!  The 20 spaces on the Romeo and Juliet trip are filled, but a waiting list is now forming and additional tickets are available.  If you want to go, get your money and permission slip into Ms. Desmond TODAY and you will be guaranteed a spot on the trip.

 

Attention SENIORS: Time is running out to order your YEARBOOK.  The deadline is TODAY if you want your name on your yearbook!!  Please use the link on the Gateway website to order your yearbook TODAY. If you have any questions, or problems see Mrs. Fayer in room 113!! 

 

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS:  Afternoon DETENTIONS WILL NOT be held during exams.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Starner.

 

The LIBRARY will be closed to study halls during Mid-terms.

 

7TH GRADERS TAKING SPANISH AND FRENCH are reminded to report to the cafeteria next week for their class periods, period 3 Spanish on Monday and period 4 French and Spanish on Tuesday.  Gracias and Merci!

 

Attention all members of the PROM COMMITTEE.  We will have a meeting 8th period during Exam time on Tuesday, Jan. 31st.  The meeting will start at 11:00 in Room 202.  If you are taking an exam at the time, and are not able to make it, please stop in and see Mr. Covely before hand so that your opinions and suggestions will be taken into account.  Again the meeting is Tuesday at 11:00 in room 202 for all Prom Committee Members.

 

Student Council will be sponsoring a BLOOD DRIVE on Friday, February 3rd.  Please see a Student Council Officer or Ms. Layng in Room 214 to sign up.  16 year olds may donate with a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian.  All donors must have Photo ID, which can be a Drivers' License or School ID and their Social Security Number, Drivers License Number or Permit Number.  All Donors receive a free T-Shirt!!! See Ms. Layng with any questions.

 

ATTENTION ART & MURAL CLUB MEMBERS:  If you are planning on going on the Van Gogh Trip on Feb. 6 you need to have your money and permission slip in to either Mrs. O'Neill or Mrs. Sheehan by next Wed. Feb. 1.  It's going to be a great trip - don't miss out!

 

Attention Middle School Students:  Our cafeteria is sponsoring a CULINARY COMPETITION! Submit your entry form with your favorite healthy breakfast recipe for the Future Chefs competition before the February 8th deadline. There will be a live competition here on March 28 and a chance to move on to the national competition.  Check in the cafeteria, main office or Mrs. Muller for entry forms or more details.  

 

WESTVILL LITTLE LEAGUE SIGN UPS will be held on February 2nd and 16th from 6-8pm and
February 11th and 25th from 11-1pm.  Registration for First child $75, Second child $65, Third or more $55 each.  After these dates all players registering will be $100 per player.

 

SPORTS RESULTS:

 

Congratulations to the GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM on their win over Lindenwold last night.  Alisha Fox led the gators with 24 points while Colleen Connolly added a career high 18 points to solidify the win.

 

Congratulations to the GIRLS JV BASKETBALL TEAM on their win over Lindenwold.  Brianna Gismondi and Caroline McAnnally both had 8 to lead to Gators scoring efforts.

 

Congratulations to the MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM on their first win of the season with a come from behind win over Lindenwold, 27-23 in the last minute of the game.  This was a great team win with 7 different players scoring points and strong defense down the stretch to help preserve the victory. Autumn Murphy led the comeback with 6 points in the 4 quarters and 8 points total.  Also scoring were Gabby Porrini and Jada Hayes with 5 points each, Abby Moniz with 3 points and Devon Burkett and Jenna Palmer with 2 points each.  Great win girls!

 

SPORTING EVENTS FOR TODAY: 
Wrestling: 3:45 Middle school; 6PM Varsity; 7PM JV home against Paulsboro

Boys Basketball 5PM; 6:30 Varsity at Maple Shade

Good luck teams!  Come out and cheer them on!

 

Remember breakfast is the most important meal of the day!  Studies show improved test scores and better concentration when you start the day with a good breakfast.  Plan to stop by the cafeteria and start your day off right.  BREAKFAST is served from 7:15 AM to 7:45AM for the regular price of $2.00.  They are plenty of delicious and nutritious choices to wake your brain up and quite down your tummy.
