Congratulations to Mr. Better, Middle School Staff Member of the Week“Ask Mr. Better, he will help.”  I probably say this once a day. Whether it’s a teacher or a student, the copy machine or the coffee machine, Mr. Better will take the time to figure it out.  In this fast paced world where peoples to-do list are never ending, it’s a very special thing to work with someone who will take time out of his busy day to help someone.  His sense of humor is just as valuable to Gateway as his intelligence, keeping smiles on students and teachers faces during an otherwise ordinary school day.  His energy and enthusiasm, his willingness to go the extra mile, and his love of loud music all make him more than worthy of recognition.  Thank you Mr. Better!

**Attention HS Students** Are you interested in helping out your local community?  Sign-Up for Students in Action.  It is a club designed to help out with school community service projects throughout the year.  If you are interested, please stop by Ms. Mangiocco's room in 207 to sign up this week. Don't forget the Healthy High School Challenge is in full swing and you can help Gateway High School win the $4,000.00 top prize by purchasing combo meals in the cafeteria, healthy snacks or beverages on the challenge list. We can double the points you earn by purchasing the "featured" healthy snack, beverage, or entree of the week highlighted in the cafeteria.  There are a total of 66 cash prizes to win so let's work together to come out on top. We are currently ranked 9th in the nation for total sales, snack and beverage sales.

Gateway is excited to partner with Celebrate My Drive, State Farm and all of you to celebrate teen driver safety.  Don’t forget to make your daily commitment in support of our school at www.celebratemydrive.com.  Have you asked your friends and family to  make a daily safe driving commitment?  We can all be safer drivers.   Let’s do this-and let’s all commit to drive 2N2 every trip:  2 eyes on the road, 2 hands on the wheel.
